Many Thanks

Hi
Just found a fly/moth which has has a green body, with yellow stripes on the abdomen and a brown “X” pattern on the wings. It also has a red thorax and red shoulder pads.
It also buzzes if that helps.
Found it in our flat hanging around the light, never seen anything like it!
Regards
John
Dear John,
Thank you for your enquire. However, in order to identify the fly I need to see it, if it is possible. Would you be able to send me a photo or to bring the fly itself? Please, contact me by my email address: dmitri.v.logunov@manchester.ac.uk.
All the best,
Dmitri
Good evening entomolgists ?
I have seen a species of wasp in Cheetham Hill, Bury Old Road, near King David’s School, living in a wall. They are very active on sunny days, and may have been there for 2-3 weeks, living close by visiting Honey Bees. I need to identify them, and willing to send you images of them. My Collins Complete British Insects, by M. Chinery is the only insect text book I have, but am still confused. The owners of the school may want to get rid of them, but I believe they are harmless. PLEASE COULD YOU ADVISE. I do not want them killed, especially if they are harmless. I have never seen this species of wasp before in anywhere.
Regards,
Paul Senkans.
Dear Paul,
Please, sedn your images to my email address . If it is possible, we shall identify the wasp. However, in many cases an image won;t be enought and we need a specimen. I hoep we shall be able to comment on the wast you have observed.
